Jude Bellingham's second-half goal secured Real Madrid a 3-0 victory over Mallorca in the Supercopa de España semi-final in Jeddah.
The win sets up a final clash with Barcelona on Sunday, a rematch of last year’s final.
The match remained goalless until the 63rd minute when Bellingham capitalized on a sequence of opportunities. Rodrygo’s header hit the post, and Kylian Mbappe’s follow-up was saved by Mallorca keeper Dominik Greif before Bellingham converted from close range.
The opener marks Bellingham's ninth goal of the season and his seventh in his last nine matches for Real Madrid.
Real Madrid extended their lead in stoppage time. An own goal by Mallorca's Martin Valjent, who deflected Brahim Diaz's through ball into the net, doubled Madrid's advantage. Moments later, Rodrygo sealed the win by finishing a low cross from Lucas Vazquez to celebrate his 24th birthday in style.
Sunday’s final will pit Real Madrid against Barcelona, the famous ‘El Classico’ fixture. Barcelona had secured their place in the final with a 2-0 win over Athletic Club on Wednesday. The match will begin at 19:00 GMT.
Barcelona holds the record for most Spanish Super Cup titles with 14, while Real Madrid trails closely with 13. In their last league meeting in October, Barcelona defeated Real Madrid 4-0. Sunday’s match will also be a repeat of last year’s Super Cup final, where Real Madrid claimed a 4-1 victory, courtesy of a Vinicius Jr hattrick.
Barcelona’s lineup for the final could include both Dani Olmo and Pau Victor, whose registrations were provisionally approved by the Spanish National Sports Council. Both were unavailable during the semi-final due to ongoing registration issues with La Liga.
The Spanish Super Cup final will take place in Jeddah, continuing the tournament’s recent tradition of being held outside Spain.
