The family made a rare public appearance during Culkin’s Hollywood Walk of Fame ceremony in 2023. Reflecting on the moment, Song told Bustle, “We couldn’t have them miss that. Dak was so scared of all the cameras.” She emphasized their commitment to keeping their children out of the spotlight, explaining, “They didn’t ask for this life.”

Balancing this protective approach with her career has posed challenges for Song. Initially hesitant to take on her latest role in The Last Showgirl, she navigated these concerns while embracing motherhood. “I had two pregnancies in the same calendar year. It was a lot,” she said, adding that motherhood prompted her to reassess societal pressures, ageism, and her place in the industry.
