Ruby Franke’s daughter claims ‘honeymoon suite’ with Jodi Hildebrandt

Shari Franke’s memoir reveals shocking claims about Ruby Franke’s alleged relationship with Jodi Hildebrandt.

Shari Franke, daughter of former 8 Passengers vlogger Ruby Franke, has made startling claims in her memoir, The House of My Mother: A Daughter’s Quest for Freedom. 

The book, released January 7, details Ruby’s alleged “sneaking around” with her business partner, Jodi Hildebrandt, during a tumultuous period in the family’s life.

Franke, 21, writes about the alleged nature of the relationship, claiming Hildebrandt moved into her bedroom, relegating her to the living room couch, and made the entire upstairs of their home “off-limits” to Ruby’s then-husband, Kevin Franke. She recalls returning to her former room during Ruby and Hildebrandt’s absence, describing the space as resembling a “honeymoon suite” with candles, massage oils, and a lingering scent of lavender.

Shari also alleges seeing Ruby leave the room at 5 a.m. with a “messy” appearance, a “hastily tied robe,” and a “mischievous smile.” She questions whether the pair, who publicly condemned queerness through their ConneXions coaching videos, were privately engaging in a romantic relationship.

Ruby Franke and Jodi Hildebrandt pleaded guilty to child abuse charges in December 2023 and are currently serving time for their treatment of Ruby’s six children. Shari’s memoir describes her struggles living in what she calls a “house of lies” and her eventual relief at the arrests, which followed years of reported abuse.

The memoir sheds light on the complex dynamics within the Franke household and raises questions about the extent of Ruby and Hildebrandt’s connection.
