Two police officers were martyred in a terrorist attack in Lakki Marwat district of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (K-P) on Monday.

According to Express News, the incident occurred near the Khero Khel Paka area, where the terrorists targeted the police personnel.

The police reported that the two officers were on their way to the station on a motorcycle when they were ambushed and shot at by the militants. Investigations into the incident are ongoing.

Meanwhile, the Interior Minister, Mohsin Naqvi, condemned the attack on the police officers and expressed solidarity with the families of the martyrs.

He praised the sacrifice of the slain officers and assured their families that the government stands with them in this difficult time.

Earlier on Dec.10, security forces on Monday killed two terrorists and rounded up one during an IBO in K-P's DI Khan district.

According to a press statement issued by the ISPR, security forces conducted the IBO in DI Khan's general area Kulachi.

"During the operation, own troops effectively engaged khawarij location, as a result of which, two khawarij were sent to hell, while one kharji was apprehended in injured condition," it said.

Weapons and ammunition were also recovered during the operation.
