A shooting incident in the Machni Gate area of Peshawar resulted in six fatalities and six injuries when armed assailants opened fire on a moving vehicle carrying wedding guests, Express News reported.
According to the Machni Gate police, the attack occurred when a wedding convoy, led by Islam Allah and his family, was travelling in two vehicles.
The assailants, who were lying in wait, ambushed the vehicles with a barrage of bullets. Six people died from multiple gunshot wounds, while six others were injured in the attack.
The victims have been identified as Islam Allah, Muhammad Tariq, Kamran Ilahi, Yusuf, Abbas, and Ali Hassan, all residents of Tehkal. Police confirmed that the attack was a result of an ongoing feud between Islam Allah's family and the rival family of Arbab Saif Ali, stemming from previous murders.
Following the incident, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Investigation Noor Jamal and Superintendent of Police (SP) Warsak Mukhtiar Ali arrived at the scene, along with other investigation officers.
The bodies and injured individuals were transferred to a nearby hospital for medical attention.
A formal case is expected to be filed after the relatives of the victims submit their report. Witnesses at the scene revealed that the bodies of the six victims remained on the road for some time before being removed.
The tragic incident, which primarily affected residents of Tehkal, has cast a shadow of mourning over the area as funeral processions have taken place.
