The alleged Tesla Cybertruck bomber has been identified as 37-year-old Matthew Livelsberger, a U.S. Army veteran.
Livelsberger reportedly served at the same military base as the New Orleans terror suspect who carried out a deadly attack that killed 15 people on the same day.
The devastating explosion outside one of Donald Trump’s hotels claimed Livelsberger’s life and injured several others on New Year’s Day.
Authorities are continuing to investigate the explosion to determine whether it qualifies as an "act of terror."
Dramatic footage captured the moment the vehicle exploded near the glass entrance of the Trump International Hotel shortly before 9 a.m. on Wednesday.
The video includes loud bangs and shows black smoke billowing into the Nevada sky.
Emergency responders, including an ambulance and several police vehicles, rushed to the hotel, which is located just off the iconic Las Vegas Strip.
The Cybertruck was torn apart in the blast, with its metal panels scattered across the street, leaving up to seven people injured.
Law enforcement sources confirmed to the *New York Post* that Livelsberger, originally from Colorado, was driving the rented Tesla at the time of the explosion.
According to KTNV, police raided one of Livelsberger’s addresses in Colorado Springs on Wednesday night to search the premises.
Following the extinguishing of the flames, investigators thoroughly examined the truck and found fireworks, gas tanks, and camping fuel inside.
These materials were reportedly connected to a detonation device controlled by the driver, according to CNN.
Tesla CEO Elon Musk addressed the incident on X, confirming that the explosion was not caused by the Cybertruck itself but rather by "very large fireworks and/or a bomb."
The billionaire further stated that his team has "never seen anything like this" occur with a Tesla vehicle.
