A water pipe burst at Karachi’s Jinnah International Airport on Tuesday, causing flooding in the international departure lounge.
The water pooled in front of immigration counters, inconveniencing passengers and staff.
According to the airport authority spokesperson, swift action was taken to identify the broken pipe and isolate the affected area by shutting off a western section’s isolation valve.
Airport staff used buckets and wipers to remove the water and prevent it from spreading further.
Despite the unusual incident, airport operations remained unaffected.
The spokesperson confirmed that passenger movement continued smoothly while technical teams carried out immediate repairs. Water dripping from the ceiling in the domestic arrivals lounge was also promptly addressed.
The airport authority thanked passengers for their cooperation during the incident and assured them that additional measures would be implemented to prevent similar occurrences in the future.
