ISLAMABAD:

The Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI-F) has congratulated the nation and the Ittehad Tanzimat-e-Madaris — the umbrella organization of religious seminaries — on the notification of the Societies Registration (Amendment) Act, 2024, stating that their efforts had borne fruit. The party has also reiterated its resolve not to compromise on the autonomy of religious schools.

In a statement issued on Sunday, JUI-F spokesperson Aslam Ghauri expressed gratitude to Allah Almighty for the success and extended congratulations to the nation, party workers and the leaders of the Ittehad Tanzimat-e-Madaris.

"Allah has honoured us with this success, and our struggle has paid off. The JUI-F will continue to play its role in protecting religious schools, which are the bastions of Islam and the guardians of Pakistan's ideological boundaries," he said.

The spokesperson said the unity of religious scholars was crucial for the protection of religious institutions and pledged to thwart any conspiracy against madrassas. He reaffirmed that the autonomy of madrassas was non-negotiable.
