ISLAMABAD:

The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has announced plans to accelerate the development of eight residential sectors in Islamabad, focusing on delivering fully developed plots to allottees in a timely manner.

Sector C-14 is at the forefront of these efforts, with over 200 one-kanal plots generating more than Rs12 billion in revenue through auctions. Possession of these plots will be handed over to owners once the final installment is paid.

In a meeting chaired by CDA Chairman Muhammad Ali Randhawa on Thursday, senior officials and board members discussed the progress of ongoing projects.

The Chairman emphasised the importance of expediting work in Sector C-14, where 85 per cent of the road infrastructure and 35 per cent of drainage and sewerage systems have already been completed.

He assured that possession of plots would be granted before the last installment is made. Development work in Sector I-12 is also nearing completion, with 78 per cent of the project finished and the remaining tasks expected to be completed soon. Similarly, significant progress has been made in Sectors E-12/2 and E-12/1, where most development work has been finalised. Legal and logistical challenges related to Built-Up Property (BUP) in Sector E-12 were discussed during the meeting, with directives issued to resolve these issues promptly.

The meeting also reviewed the progress in Sectors C-15, C-16, C-13, D-13, E-13, and F-13. The Chairman instructed CDA's Engineering and State Wings to eliminate obstacles hindering development in these sectors and ensure swift progress. He emphasized the need for a comprehensive review of all legal matters related to BUP and pledged to visit the sectors personally to oversee and address any challenges.

The CDA has set the price of each one-kanal plot in Sector C-14 at Rs60 million, with payment to be made in instalments over nine months.

This development initiative is expected to address the growing housing demand in the federal capital while contributing significantly to CDA's revenue stream.
