San Antonio musician Chris Saucedo, known for leading The Chris Saucedo Band, tragically passed away on Monday, December 16.

His death has sparked an outpouring of grief on social media, with many fans and friends remembering him fondly.

Saucedo was a well-known figure in the San Antonio music scene, frequently performing at local venues like Brooster’s Backyard Icehouse. The venue honored him as “a shining light in the country music world” and praised his kind soul, which “touched the hearts of many.”

Jeanette Lira, who recalled Saucedo performing at both her wedding and divorce, hinted that he may have been struggling with personal challenges. She encouraged others facing similar struggles to seek help.

Trina Guevara, a longtime friend of Saucedo’s, shared her difficulty in processing his loss, especially since they had recently discussed his musical plans for 2025. Other musicians, such as Trisdon Fuentes and Roxanne Alcoser, also fondly remembered Saucedo as generous and kind-hearted.

In 2009, Saucedo founded The Chris Saucedo Band, originally known as New Age Outlawz. The band, known for blending country and rock influences, quickly became one of San Antonio’s rising musical acts. They gained recognition for covering songs by artists like Randy Rogers, Stoney LaRue, and Wade Bowen.
