A witness to Liam Payne's tragic death has shared chilling details about the singer’s final moments, describing the experience as “burned into my brain.”

On October 16, Bret Watson was staying at the CasaSur Palermo Hotel in Buenos Aires for his wedding when he saw the One Direction star fall to his death from a third-floor balcony. Payne, who was 31, died from multiple injuries, including internal and external hemorrhages, according to the preliminary autopsy report.

Speaking in TMZ Presents: Liam Payne: Who's to Blame?, Watson recalled seeing the singer intoxicated and acting erratically throughout the day. He said hotel staff carried Payne by his arms and legs back to his room, where he was left alone shortly before the fatal fall.

“I immediately recognized him,” Watson explained, sharing how he and his wedding planner ran to the balcony after the fall. “We could tell right away that it was Liam, and he was motionless.”

Watson described the trauma of witnessing the fall but said the sound of Payne’s body hitting the ground was even more harrowing. “Seeing anyone fall like that is heartbreaking, but hearing the impact was haunting.”

In the days following Payne's death, other hotel guests reported hearing violent screams” and “loud banging” noises coming from his room. Police arrived shortly after 5 p.m., and Payne was pronounced dead soon after.

Weeks later, Argentina’s National Criminal and Correctional Prosecutor’s Office confirmed the arrests of three individuals charged with abandonment of a person followed by death and narcotics facilitation.

TMZ Presents: Liam Payne: Who's to Blame? is a documentary special produced by TMZ. It delves into the circumstances surrounding the tragic death of Liam Payne, the former One Direction singer, who passed away after a fatal fall in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
