PESHAWAR:

Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Khan Gandapur has stated that the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf will implement every decision made by PTI founder Imran Khan, even if he asks for civil disobedience.

Speaking to international media representatives at the Chief Minister's House in Peshawar, he said that during Imran Khan's tenure, law and order were well-maintained, but after the PDM government came into power, the situation deteriorated. "Institutions have been focused on dismantling PTI instead of performing their duties," he alleged.

He mentioned that when he took charge of the government, conditions were extremely poor, but efforts have been concentrated on improvement. "In some areas, police have been placed on the frontlines, and significant work is underway to strengthen the forcein the merged districts.

The CM highlighted that Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa is at the forefront of the fight against terrorism, and that its performance surpasses that of other provinces. He claimed K-P achieved IMF targets, which no other province has managed so far, and increased revenue by 44% in the past nine months.

Ali Amin Gandapur acknowledged the challenges related to law and order, but assured that solutions are being implemented. He added that development funds released in six months exceed those of previous governments in an entire year.

"To improve governance, public empowerment has been prioritised, including the establishment of a public complaint portal to address citizens' grievances.

For better mining management, a special mining company has been created. Additionally, a dedicated power transmission line is being laid to supply electricity from local power plants, both of which are critical projects for the province's development.

The CM said that during meetings of both provincial and federal apex committees, he advocated for negotiations with Afghanistan, emphasising that dialogue is the solution to all issues.

He pointed out that while the entire world recognises the Afghan government, Pakistan should also engage in talks.

He remarked that Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa shares a long border with Afghanistan and bears the brunt of the fallout. "Although the federal government has indicated its willingness to talk with Afghanistan, no serious or practical steps have been taken,"

Ali Amin Gandapur emphasised that the sacrifices of the people of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa should be acknowledged by the entire country. "The long border with the neighboring country is being managed through local sacrifices, with police and security forces laying down their lives for peace."

He stated that while terrorism has affected their province, they are ensuring it does not spread further.
