'Put a smile on your face'
Throughout the years, Atif Aslam's songs have remained steady companions during a myriad of bittersweet experiences. Whether you are sporting the first blush of true love or weeping through a heartbreak, the singer has a song for every occasion. Recently, this statement proved true at Atif's own concert, during which he comforted a fan who couldn't contain her tears.
In a circulating video first shared by Junaid Maqbul on TikTok, the 41-year-old singer was captured belting his song Kuch Is Tarha, in the midst of which he noticed an individual in the audience shedding tears. He was prompt in jogging over and asking the fan, "Why are you crying?"
In the meantime, however, Atif hardly missed a beat, mindful of the rest of the concertgoers swaying to his lyrics. However, he did reserve some brief pauses for the crying enthusiast, to whom he urged, "Stop crying." Coincidentally, the lyrics also relayed the story of a tearful muse, giving the singer the opportunity to comfort the fan with a timely serenade. "Put a smile on your face," he added for good measure.
Devotees might be aware that this is only one of the many heartwarming interactions that the Doorie singer has had with his fans. In an older video clip shared by Momil Khalid on TikTok, Atif was captured crouched next to a little one, who had a surprising skill to share.
"When Atif Aslam asks your son to share his favourite song and Mir says the 99 names of Allah. If this doesn't melt you, I don't know what will," read the caption. The clip displayed Atif nodding along in encouragement and aiding the recitation during the boy's slight hiccups. He even praised the little one at the end with a due "Maa Shaa Allah".
The Jeene Laga Hoon singer is also known for his sensibility in dealing with disquieting matters on the spot. In a video shared by Indiatimes on YouTube, a fan managed to climb up on stage and hug him during a concert in Bangladesh. This led to the intervention of security, though Atif kept his composure, politely backing away from the fan's advances yet not invalidating her gestures of admiration.
In a different incident, during a concert in Los Angeles, he briefly halted his performance when a fan began showering him with money. In a clip shared by Brut India on YouTube, Atif respectfully said, "My friend, you can come back and donate this money." Softly expressing his views, he added, "It's a disrespect to the money."
