MrBeast, one of the world’s most prominent content creators, has opened up about a personal revelation stemming from constant online scrutiny about his appearance. 

Known for his viral YouTube challenges and philanthropic efforts, the YouTuber has often faced comments about not “smiling with his eyes” in photos or videos.

One X user (formerly Twitter) brought up this observation, prompting MrBeast to weigh in with his own experience. The creator revealed that these remarks led him to seek an eye examination, ultimately uncovering a surprising diagnosis.

“Funny story, I get this comment a lot and it’s why I got my eyes examined,” he shared. “I found out I have a severe astigmatism, and my vision is horrible. Without contacts, I can’t see unless I’m squinting, and that’s why my eyes used to look off in photos when I smiled.”

Astigmatism, a common condition, occurs when the cornea or lens inside the eye is irregularly shaped, leading to blurred vision. MrBeast further added, “Thanks to everyone who pointed out that I didn’t smile with my eyes—it helped me realize objects far away are not supposed to be blurry.”

The YouTuber now wears contact lenses and expressed gratitude for those who unknowingly helped him address the issue. Despite such challenges, MrBeast continues to dominate the entertainment world, not just with his YouTube content but also with his upcoming reality series, Beast Games.
