JYP USA responds to KG’s lawsuit and public allegations against VCHA
JYP USA has issued an official response following a lawsuit filed by Kiera Grace Madder, also known as KG, a former member of the girl group VCHA.
KG announced on December 8 via Instagram Stories that she had taken legal action to terminate her contract with JYP Entertainment and leave the group.
On December 9, JYP USA released a statement addressing the matter:
“In May, KG left group residence and began discussions through her legal representatives. To address her concerns, we temporarily paused VCHA’s activities and engaged in extensive dialogue to find resolutions. However, we have recently received no communication from her representatives.”
The statement refuted KG’s public allegations, calling them “false and exaggerated claims,” and highlighted the damage caused to both the remaining members of VCHA and JYP USA. “This action has significantly harmed VCHA members, who have been preparing for their early 2025 album and projects,” JYP USA noted.
The company emphasized its commitment to safeguarding the group’s reputation and ongoing efforts: “JYP USA will take all necessary measures to ensure that neither the other members of VCHA nor JYP USA suffer further harm.”
VCHA, a joint venture by JYP Entertainment and Republic Records, was formed in 2023 through the project A2K (America2Korea). Initially scheduled to perform at Lollapalooza earlier this year, the group withdrew and has since been on hiatus.
