LAHORE:

Police have arrested a suspect allegedly involved in killing a Punjab University student.

The deceased, identified as Ammar, a student of the Gender Studies Department, was fatally shot while sitting in a car with two friends.

Initial reports suggested the involvement of motorcycle riders, but investigations revealed that the incident occurred inside the vehicle.

Police sources stated that the car was being driven by Dilawar, with Ammar seated in the front passenger seat and another student, Huzaifa, in the backseat. Huzaifa was allegedly in possession of a firearm when a shot was fired, hitting Ammar.

Meanwhile, a cop allegedly shot and injured his cousin during a financial dispute in Baghbanpura.

Constable Usman, using his official pistol, opened fire on his cousin Zahid during a heated altercation over a financial disagreement.

Eyewitnesses claim that Usman tried to forcibly take Zahid with him, and upon resistance, resorted to violence by firing at him. The incident was captured on video, which quickly went viral on social media, drawing public outrage.

Following the backlash, police registered a case against Constable Usman and two other individuals allegedly involved in the dispute.
