The bodies of two teenage girls with nooses around their necks were discovered in separate houses across the provincial capital.
The body of a 14-year-old girl, identified as Mahnoor, was found with a noose made from a dupatta tied around her neck in a house in the Chakiwara area. The body was transported to Civil Hospital for medico-legal formalities.
SHO Sajid Dharejo stated that the deceased was adopted by Imdad and his wife when she was four years old. The couple, who have no biological children, sell car cleaning cloths and had left for work in the morning.
Neighbours reported the incident to the couple. While the scene suggests mysterious circumstances, and the incident can not be immediately ruled as a suicide, police are collecting evidence and investigating further. The cause of death will be determined after the post-mortem report is received.
In a separate incident, the body of a 16-year-old girl, identified as Higa, was discovered with a noose around her neck in a house in Bismillah Colony, Orangi Town. Edhi volunteers shifted the body to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital.
SHO Mominabad Shehbaz stated that initial information suggests the deceased was scolded by her mother, which made her sad and led to subsequent suicide by hanging herself with a scarf tied to the door frame. However, police are gathering more information from the family.
