PESHAWAR:

The Peshawar High Court has approved the transit bail petitions filed by National Assembly Ppposition Leader Omar Ayub, and MNAs Faisal Amin, Shehryar Afridi, Ali Zaman, and Adil Bazai, directing them to appear before the relevant courts.

During the hearing, Justice Shakeel Ahmed remarked that issues should be resolved through dialogue for the benefit of all, emphasising that the country's well-being is paramount.

"If this country remains safe, so do we. The priority should be to resolve issues through parliamentary dialogue. Any unpleasant incident causes damage to the nation. Even if a security officer gets injured, he is a son of this country. Omar Ayub, as the opposition leader, has greater responsibility, and the government must also act responsibly," the judge observed.

The hearing for Omar Ayub and Faisal Amin Gandapur's petitions was conducted by Justice Shakeel Ahmed.

Advocate Alam Khan Adeenzai appeared on behalf of the petitioners and informed the court that Omar Ayub, being the opposition leader and a member of the National Assembly, faced seven FIRs registered against him in Islamabad following a recent protest.

He expressed concern that Ayub might be arrested before appearing in the relevant courts, prompting the court to grant him transit bail.

Justice Shakeel Ahmed reiterated that national issues should be resolved through parliamentary dialogue to avoid harm to the country. Omar Ayub informed the court of multiple FIRs filed against him, including three for motorcycle theft, despite his position as opposition leader and a member of the judicial commission.

The court granted transit bail to Omar Ayub and Faisal Amin until December 21. Similarly, the petitions for transit bail of PTI leaders Shehryar Afridi, Ali Zaman, and Adil Bazai were heard by Peshawar High Court Chief Justice Ishtiaq Ibrahim.

The court approved their transit bail and directed them to appear before the relevant courts.

After the court appearance, opposition leader Omar Ayub stated said he had come to the Peshawar High Court for transit bail, which has been granted.

"A Haripur resident, Imran Abbasi, was shot and martyred in Islamabad. The government claims no one was shot, but we can show evidence. Imran Abbasi was hit in the shoulder, and the bullet exited through his abdomen, proving it was fired from above," he said.

The opposition leader added US-donated weapons, intended for counter-terrorism, were used against Pakistani citizens. "An inquiry should be conducted into why these weapons were used."

He further stated that the PTI leadership was present at D-Chowk, and Ali Amin Gandapur's vehicle was the last to leave. "Four of my security personnel disappeared but returned yesterday. However, my vehicle is still missing, with 100,000 rupees inside," he added.

"To those who took the money, keep it, but return my car. We were unarmed and not there to capture a fort; we were fired upon, forcing our workers to leave. Rangers entered Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa without invitation and intended to attack the C<. This illegal action warrants an inquiry, and those responsible should face court-martial."

He demanded permission to meet PTI Founder Imran Khan. "I am unaware of any negotiations; the chief minister can clarify. Until the PTI founder is released, we will continue our struggle. We will also raise these issues in the assembly and file cases against Shahbaz Sharif, Maryam Nawaz, the IG of Punjab, and the DPO of Attock," he concluded.
