PM Shehbaz Sharif congratulates UAE on its 53rd National Day

Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif on Monday extended his warmest congratulations to the leadership and people of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) on the occasion of their 53rd National Day.

In a message shared on X (formerly Twitter), Prime Minister Shehbaz praised the UAE’s remarkable progress, noting that the country’s achievements are a testament to the wisdom and vision of the late Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan, the founding father of the nation. He expressed pride that Pakistan, as a brotherly nation, has been a steadfast partner in the UAE’s journey towards prosperity.

“The UAE's vision, based on innovation and modernization, is carried forward by His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum,” said the Prime Minister.

He further emphasized Pakistan’s strong and enduring relationship with the UAE, underscoring the two nations' historical and fraternal ties. "Together, we will continue to strengthen our partnership and transform it into a mutually beneficial economic relationship," Prime Minister Shehbaz remarked.

Concluding his message, the Prime Minister wished for the continued success of the UAE and reaffirmed Pakistan’s unwavering commitment to the friendship between the two nations. "Long live Pakistan-UAE friendship!" he added.

UAE National Day, celebrated annually on December 2nd, marks the unification of the seven Emirates into one nation. Known as the Spirit of the Union, this day is commemorated with spectacular fireworks, parades, and grand ceremonies. It’s a time for both locals and expatriates to come together and celebrate.

On December 2nd, 1971, the rulers of Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Ajman, Al-Ain, Sharjah, and Umm Al-Quwain united to form the UAE, guided by the vision of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, the first president. In February 1972, Ras Al Khaimah joined, becoming the seventh Emirate. Since then, National Day has been celebrated with joy and pride across the country.

Leading up to National Day, the vibrant colours of the UAE flag—red, white, black, and green—are visible everywhere, from homes and streets to cars and people. The national flag adorns landmarks, and the day itself is a public holiday, bringing families and friends together for celebration and reflection.
