Cops accused of 'kidnapping'

Cases have been registered against SHO Garh, former SHO City Jaranwala and 12 others including on the charge of illegally detaining three expats and extorting Rs300,000.

According to the police report, Abdul Majeed, a resident of Chack 65 GB, told the police that, "my brother Kashif had been staying in Saudi Arabia when former in-charge CIA Samundri and current SHO Garh Babar Gujjar kidnapped him, and his friend Faisal and kept them in CIA where police constables Qamar, Saleem, Tameel Arsalan and ten other employees kept torturing them and released them by taking a bribe of Rs300000 from them".

Saddar Jaranwala Police on the order of Additional and Sessions Judge Jaranwala registered a case against former SHO City Jaranwala Inspector Zahid Hussain Pahalwan and former In-charge Investigation Jaranwala City Sub-Inspector Shahid Imran and started searching for them.
