Captain, soldier martyred as security forces eliminate 8 terrorists in separate operations

A statement from the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said that the first operation, based on intelligence, was conducted in the Baka Khel area of Bannu, where security forces targeted a terrorist hideout after receiving information about the presence of militants in the area.

It said during the operation, five militants were killed and nine others were injured. However, 29-year-old Sepoy Iftikhar Hussain of Punjab’s Jhang district embraced martyrdom while bravely fighting in the operation.

The second operation took place in the Shagai area of Khyber District, where three militants were killed, and two others were captured. During the intense exchange of gunfire, Captain Muhammad Zohaib Ud Din, 25, of Lahore, led his team with courage and sacrificed his life in the line of duty.

The statement further said the terrorists targeted both security forces and innocent civilians in various attacks and were involved in several acts of terror.

It added that clearance operations continue in the area to eliminate any remaining militants as Pakistan's security forces remain resolute in their commitment to eradicate terrorism.
