Rangers and police have arrested a gang involved in street crimes in Karachi's Hub River Road area
Sindh Rangers and police conducted a joint operation, based on intelligence regarding the presence of Faheem and his associate Kamran, also known as Kammo, in Sardar Muzaffar Village on Hub River Road and arrested the suspects.
According to a spokesperson, the arrested suspects are part of a 15-member gang involved in multiple robberies, street crimes, and firing on law enforcement mobile units, Express News reported.
One of the suspects, Mohammad Naeem, was already arrested during a robbery while in possession of illegal weapons and a stolen motorcycle. However, Faheem and Kamran had managed to escape at that time.
During the investigation, the suspects confessed to committing several robberies, street crimes, lootings, and motorbike thefts in various areas of the city, including Hub River Road, Ittehad Town, Northern Bypass, Faqir Colony, Baldia Town, and Afridi Colony.
They also admitted to killing and injuring multiple people in cases of resistance.
The suspects are habitual criminals with multiple cases against them and have been arrested and jailed several times. Raids are being conducted to arrest their other associates. The arrested suspects have been handed over to the police for further legal action.
Earlier CCTV footage surfaced of a robbery in which Rs 5.5 million was snatched from an Easypaisa shop owner in Karachi’s Quaidabad area.
The incident took place on November 25 within the jurisdiction of Quaidabad police station.
The footage shows two armed robbers executing the heist in just 5 seconds. One of the robbers can be seen threatening the shop owner with a weapon, while the other grabs the cash-filled bag.
