RAWALPINDI:

The four-day health week conducted under the District Health Authority concluded successfully in Rawalpindi, with the Rawalpindi district securing the third place in performance across Punjab.

Over 20,000 patients received free medical treatment and diagnostic tests, along with counseling sessions to promote healthy lifestyle and disease prevention.

According to the report compiled at the health week's conclusion (November 20-23), 21,092 patients were treated, including 2,504 pregnant women. Vaccinations were provided to 6,966 children, and 15,942 individuals received counseling. Additionally, 46,482 tests were conducted, including screenings for hepatitis B and C, HIV, TB, and ultrasounds.

District Health Authority Rawalpindi's Chief Executive Health Office, Dr Asif Arbab Khan, said that the homework done for the health week was demonstrated through teamwork. According to the guidelines of the Punjab government, we will try to continue such programmes in the future. This effort not only benefits the middle class but also eases the burden on government hospitals, allowing them to operate more efficiently."
