One officer dead, two injured in accident involving IG Islamabad's security squad

A police officer killed and two other injured in a tragic accident on the motorway near Sheikhupura on Wednesday, Express News reported. According to the motorway police, the accident occurred due to a tyre burst on the Islamabad-Lahore Motorway.

The victims were the part of the squad of Inspector General (IG) Islamabad Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi. However, the IG was not present in the fleet.

Authorities have not yet disclosed the identities of the deceased and the injured officers. An investigation has been launched to determine the cause of the accident.

The two injured officers were immediately transported to a nearby hospital where they are currently receiving treatment.
