MALAKAND:

The government will set up two diagnostic centres for the early detection and treatment of patients with the dengue virus in Malakand Agency, MPA Syed Muhammad Ali Shah said on Monday.

The centres will be setup at Dargai and Batkhela, where free of cost diagnoses and treatment facilities would be available for dengue patients. Special rooms were reserved for dengue patients at the local hospitals of these two stations.

The MPA directed the Tehsil Municpial Administration (TMA) to take precautionary measures like using anti-mosquito sprays, and to ensure the drainage of fresh rainwater, which provides a breeding ground for mosquitos. Shah urged people to cooperate with health authorities and TMA staff in their own interest.

The decisions were taken during a meeting presided by the Dedack Committee chairman and Shah. Health Executive District Officer Dr Bakht Zada, Dr Kachkol Khan, Dr Siraj Khan, Dargai TMA Officer Samiullah Khan and other concerned officials attended the meeting.
