Suspect allegedly shot father in front of kids

A magistrate in Peshawar granted the one-day physical remand of a Customs officer accused of killing a man in front of his children to the police for investigation.

The accused, Irfanullah, a Grade-19 officer in the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR), was presented in court.

The investigating officer informed the court that Irfanullah killed Abdul Rehman in front of his children on the main road. The incident's video went viral on social media.

The police arrested Irfanullah at the crime scene along with the weapon used. According to the investigating officer, the murder stemmed from a dispute over a vehicle transaction between the accused and the deceased.

The officer requested the court for custody to further interrogate the accused. Granting the request, the court handed Irfanullah over to the police on a one-day physical remand.

A horrific incident took place on Peshawar's busiest throughfare, University Road, outside the Customs House gate, where a father was ruthlessly murdered in front of his young children.

Irfanullah, a Grade 18 officer with the Inland Revenue Department in Peshawar, shot Afghan citizen Abdul Rahman over a dispute regarding a car transaction.

The victim was shot and fell to the ground, bleeding heavily, and died in front of his children. A video of this tragic incident went viral on social media, showing the children crying by their father's side.

The killer, Irfanullah, a resident of Babu Zai in Swat, had recently been posted to a senior position at the Peshawar tax office.
