New mural of King Von and Lil Durk emerges after O Block mural removal

A new mural of King Von and Lil Durk appears days after Von’s O Block mural was removed.

A new mural featuring late rapper King Von and Lil Durk has surfaced in Chicago, days after Von’s iconic O Block mural was removed on November 13.

The photos of the new artwork quickly went viral on social media, garnering significant attention. While the exact location of the mural remains unclear, it is believed to be in the Chicago area.

The original mural of King Von, painted in 2021 by artist Chris Devins, was prominently displayed on the side of Parkway Supermarket on King Drive. It depicted Von wearing his recognizable “O Block” chain, a symbol of his legacy in the Chicago drill music scene. The mural was taken down after being defaced with red graffiti, reportedly linked to the recent arrest of Lil Durk, Von’s close associate.

Lil Durk, aka Durk Devontay Banks, faces charges of "murder-for-hire" in connection with a 2022 Los Angeles shooting involving Quando Rondo, a rapper associated with Von’s death in 2020. The shooting resulted in the death of Rondo’s cousin.

King Von, who was killed at age 26, remains a celebrated figure in drill music, with posthumous albums like ‘What It Means to Be King’ continuing to solidify his impact on the genre.
