The Youth Gala Festival, organised by the Sindh government, opened on Saturday with the aim to promote the creative and athletic talents of the youth. Well-known singer Shahzad Roy kicked off the event by launching the calligraphy competitions.
Commissioner Karachi, Syed Hassan Naqvi inaugurated the festival at a ceremony.
The festival, which runs until Sunday, is part of an initiative led by Sindh Minister for Sports and Youth Affairs to promote the creative and athletic talents of Sindh's youth. It features a wide range of activities, including sports competitions, art exhibitions, and cultural performances.
The opening ceremony featured various sports contests such as tug of war, badminton, table tennis, taekwondo, snooker, carrom, chess, claw fighting, and more. Cultural activities like calligraphy, painting, debate, and mushaira (poetry recital) are also being held to celebrate the rich artistic heritage of the province.
