Qatar praises Pakistan's efforts for regional peace, stability

General Sahir Shamshad Mirza emphasised 'strong brotherly relations' between Pakistan and Qatar

Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee Chairman General Sahir Shamshad Mirza, met with Qatar’s Deputy Prime Minister and Defence Minister, Sheikh Saud bin Abdulrahman bin Hassan bin Ali Al-Thani, on Thursday during an official visit to Doha.

Both discussed security issues and regional dynamics, pledging to strengthen military ties between the two nations.

Sheikh Saud acknowledged Pakistan’s “positive role” in promoting stability in the region and commended the Pakistan Armed Forces for their “professionalism and sacrifices in the fight against terrorism,” according to a statement released by Pakistan’s military.

General Mirza also held separate discussions with the Chief of Staff of the Qatar Armed Forces. During the meeting, both sides reviewed regional security concerns and committed to expanding their cooperation in defence and security.

General Mirza emphasised the “strong brotherly relations” between Pakistan and Qatar and underscored a shared goal to deepen military-to-military collaboration across the defence spectrum.

This visit is expected to pave the way for enhanced joint initiatives and further solidify the longstanding diplomatic and military partnership between Pakistan and Qatar.
