Margot Robbie recently opened up about her unique method for preparing emotional scenes, revealing on the Talking Pictures: A Movie Memories Podcast that the theme music from Titanic helps her get into a tearful mindset.

During the November 26 episode, Robbie shares, "I can even just hear the theme music of Titanic, and I’ll be bawling." Robbie has used this technique on several occasions, including on The Wolf of Wall Street for an intense post-divorce scene.

The experience was particularly "surreal" when, while listening to the music on set to stay in character, Robbie saw Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate Winslet—Titanic’s iconic lead actors—passing by. “It was very surreal,” Robbie recounts. DiCaprio and Winslet’s performance in James Cameron’s 1997 classic made Titanic a cultural phenomenon, winning 11 Oscars and leaving an emotional mark on Robbie as well.

The Talking Pictures podcast, hosted by Turner Classic Movies’ Ben Mankiewicz, has launched its second season, featuring comedy stars like Bill Murray, Carol Burnett, and Jane Lynch. Mankiewicz teases upcoming episodes that explore not only the films that inspire Hollywood’s comedy legends but also the deeper emotional connections actors like Robbie find in movies, both as viewers and performers.
