YouTuber Unspeakable buys $39K Amazon tiny home only to find no power or outlets
This new homeowner is pushing forward despite facing power limitations. Nathan Graham, from the YouTube channel “Unspeakable,” bought a pre-assembled home on Amazon for $38,999.
Graham, 26, wanted to see if Amazon could deliver a complete home with all its furnishings. When it arrived, the house was in an Amazon-branded box and required unfolding.
The home included windows and a bathroom, although Graham pointed out that it didn’t come with assembly instructions.
However, when Graham tried to plug in a small fridge, he discovered that the 19-by-20-foot Chery Industrial prefabricated expandable house had no electrical outlets.
“I’m trying to find somewhere to plug in the fridge, but there’s no electrical outlets,” he said in the unboxing video, which has reached 7.5 million views.
“Did you not order the electrical package?” one of his friends jokingly asked.
Graham soon realized he had overlooked the product description, which noted, “Reminder: Mobile Prefab House is not wired. Please hire an electrician for American standard wiring. Stay safe!”
Fortunately, Graham had planned ahead by purchasing a generator to power essential items, like the fridge and an 80-inch TV.
In addition to the generator, Graham bought a bunk bed, couch, tables, vacuum, games, kitchen appliances, and food supplies.
Amazon also clarified that the property does not come with household appliances, furniture, running water, or drainage and sewer connections. Buyers must arrange these essentials independently.
The home does, however, include a built-in bathroom, shower, and kitchen cabinets.
Initially, the home appeared compact as it came out of the box, but once Graham and his friends unfolded it, the structure featured four walls, a roof, and windows.
Through this experience, Graham and his team learned that nearly anything can be bought on Amazon, but it’s crucial to read the fine print to know exactly what’s included.
