The Wicked movie premiere in Mexico City on November 11 turned into a nostalgic reunion as the original Mexican cast gathered in honor of the upcoming film starring Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo. The event brought together Mexican pop star Danna Paola and Ceci De La Cueva, who famously portrayed Elphaba and Glinda in the 2013 Spanish-language production of Wicked. The two stars announced earlier this year that they would reprise their roles as the voices of Elphaba and Glinda in the Latin American dub of Jon M. Chu’s Wicked adaptation.

Held at the Palacio de los Deportes, transformed into the Enchanted City, the premiere featured an emotional moment as Danna and De La Cueva met Grande and Erivo, uniting the “two Elphabas” and “two Glindas.” Fans greeted Grande with chants of “¡Ariana, hermana, ya eres Mexicana!” expressing their admiration as the singer reacted with gratitude. Danna also met with Erivo, creating a memorable gathering for fans of both the original Mexican production and the upcoming film.
