President-elect Donald Trump is expected to name Stephen Miller, his top adviser on immigration, as White House deputy chief of staff for policy, sources familiar with the plans told CNN. The announcement is anticipated within the coming days.

Miller, who previously served as a senior adviser during Trump’s first administration, has been a prominent figure in advocating for stricter immigration policies. In his new role, he is set to take on expanded responsibilities, shaping the policy direction for Trump’s second term.

A lead architect behind Trump’s proposed mass deportation plan, Miller has outlined ambitions for significantly increased deportations, aiming for a tenfold rise to over one million per year.

“President-elect Trump will begin making decisions on who will serve in his second administration soon. Those decisions will be announced when they are made,” Trump spokeswoman Karoline Leavitt told CNN.
