Gunna’s brother responds after Young Thug’s X account posts and deletes message on their friendship
Following a post from Young Thug’s X account that was swiftly deleted, Gunna’s brother, DP, responded to the cryptic message, intensifying the online chatter about the two rappers’ relationship. The post, reportedly from Thug’s account, read, “Gunna stop acting like we friends on the internet, I don’t know u my guy.” Although Gunna himself did not respond, DP stepped in to comment, stating, “Trust and believe the feeling is mutual,” along with a “P” emoji.
The exchange quickly gained traction, with social media users speculating about the state of the friendship between the rappers. Instagram user @neesoflyy commented, “If I was thug, I wouldn’t want to breathe wrong… Just go live ya life!” Another user, @siarathegoddess, expressed frustration with the ongoing public drama, saying, “This beef is exhausting & confusing. That’s why I mind my business.” User @donjoya29 added, “I’m convinced yall like prison more than your freedom.”
The rappers’ strained relationship has been a topic of public interest since their arrests in 2022 on racketeering charges related to Young Thug’s YSL label. Gunna, who was released after pleading guilty to conspiracy charges in December 2022, reaffirmed his ties to YSL in an interview, stating, “I’m still signed to YSL… we still pushing.” Meanwhile, Thug remained in custody until October 31, 2024, when he accepted a plea deal.
This latest exchange follows months of public scrutiny and “snitching” rumors directed at Gunna. In April, he emphasized the personal nature of his relationship with Thug, saying, “It’s love, always. Our relationship is our relationship.”
