Young Thug’s deleted post on X sparks rumors of fallout with Gunna amid snitch allegations
Young Thug and Gunna's relationship might not be as smooth as fans initially believed after Gunna’s recent release from prison earlier this month.
Over the weekend, Young Thug posted a now-deleted tweet, sparking speculation that he may have been subtly criticizing his “Pushin P” collaborator. Fans assumed tension between the two after Gunna’s release in 2022 following an Alford plea deal, which led some to believe the Wunna rapper had cooperated with authorities against Thug.
Although Gunna denied these claims and continued to represent the YSL record label, he was still labeled a “snitch” by some. Moving forward to 2024, one of Young Thug’s lawyer’s requests to the judge was to permit Thug to collaborate with Gunna due to contractual obligations with YSL. When fans heard about this request, they assumed the two rappers were on good terms—until recent developments suggested otherwise.
In his now-deleted tweet, Young Thug cryptically wrote, "Gunna stop acting like we friends on the internet, I don't know you my guy."
It’s worth noting that Thug may have been using “Gunna” as slang for “Going to,” potentially addressing his own online interactions. However, the tweet’s deletion and past allegations about Gunna cooperating with authorities fuel skepticism around their relationship.
Gunna’s attorney, Steve Sadow, has refuted the claims of cooperation on Gunna’s part. According to Sadow, Gunna is not working with law enforcement, and the terms of his plea agreement prevent him from being called to testify in the YSL RICO case.
"Gunna did not snitch to get out of jail," Sadow posted on Instagram. "He has said nothing and is not cooperating. His plea statement cannot be used in court against any other defendant. So please stop spreading lies."
