Punjab Governor Sardar Saleem Haider Khan has emphasised the importance of a stable coalition government for the country's development, stating that political stability has helped curb inflation and boost the economy.
Speaking to the media at a reception hosted by Pakistan Peoples' Party (PPP) leader Malik Rashid on Wednesday, Khan credited President Asif Ali Zardari and PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari with playing key roles in establishing the coalition government in the country.
He said political stability has helped curb inflation and boost the economy, with inflation currently at single-digit levels. He said continued governance under the coalition for five years would likely bring further improvements.
Khan praised Bilawal Bhutto's contributions to the 26th Amendment.
