Gypsy-Rose Blanchard Confirms Boyfriend Ken Urker as Father of Her Baby
Gypsy-Rose Blanchard, known for her role in Gypsy Rose: Life After Lockup, confirmed that her boyfriend, Ken Urker, is the father of her first child following a prenatal paternity test. Blanchard, 32, shared the news in a Nov. 5 Instagram post, accompanied by a statement addressing ongoing speculation regarding her baby's paternity. "There’s been a lot of chatter around the paternity of our baby...I feel it’s finally time to put all these theories to rest," she wrote, along with her test results. Blanchard expressed confidence in Urker’s ability to be a “great dad” and added that both are “excited to welcome our baby girl into the world.”
The announcement comes amid legal complexities involving Louisiana’s paternity laws, which could potentially list Blanchard’s ex-husband, Ryan Anderson, on the birth certificate. Under state law, if a mother is married or has been divorced for less than 300 days at the time of her child’s birth, the husband or recent ex is presumed to be the father. Anderson, whom Blanchard divorced earlier this year, could still be listed on the birth certificate unless an affidavit is signed or Urker initiates a court process to secure his parental status.
Blanchard also discussed the challenges of co-parenting with Urker due to her parole restrictions, which prevent them from living together. On Nick Viall's The Viall Files podcast, she explained that she currently resides with her parents in Cut Off, Louisiana, while Urker lives an hour away. “I’m going to be living [with my parents] until I’m off parole,” Blanchard said, acknowledging the logistical difficulties ahead. For now, she and Urker are navigating their relationship and preparing to co-parent despite the distance.
