Hip-hop podcaster DJ Akademiks recently sparked controversy on X, formerly Twitter, by claiming he received "bread" from Vice President Kamala Harris' team but still voted against her.
Akademiks’ posts came amid the 2024 U.S. presidential election results, where Donald Trump, 78, is projected to have defeated Harris, 60, securing wins in battleground states like North Carolina, Georgia, and Pennsylvania. Trump’s projected victory could grant him a second term, with the Associated Press forecasting a Republican majority in the Senate.
On November 6, DJ Akademiks criticized Harris' campaign strategy, alleging, “Ain’t nobody even vote for Kamala… we voted for the old senile n*gga Biden… get her a** outta here. Real n*gga in for the next 4 years.”
The podcaster also claimed that Harris' team paid prominent celebrities, including Taylor Swift, Beyoncé, and Oprah Winfrey, to endorse her. "Half these celeb n*ggas… were getting paid millions to brainwash u dumb a** n*ggas," he wrote, adding, "y’all secured the check but not the White House. SAD!"
Akademiks further praised Elon Musk’s role in Trump’s success, suggesting Musk’s acquisition of X allowed for balanced social media discourse, claiming, “He the goat… META and GOOGLE were pawns for Biden/democrats.”
Concluding his posts, Akademiks maintained his opposition to Harris, despite purported payments, asserting that he still hoped she lost.
