ISLAMABAD:

The Ministry of Law and Justice, in collaboration with NADRA and the National Police Bureau (NBP), inaugurated Pakistan’s first National Sex Offenders Register at a ceremony in Islamabad today.

The milestone initiative is designed to curb sexual violence and abuse by establishing a more proactive and effective system accessible to institutions and the public.

Under Section 24 of the Anti-Rape (Investigation and Trial) Act, 2021, NADRA was assigned the task of creating the sex offenders register.

The Ministry of Law and Justice, in partnership with the special committee formed under the law, finalised the rules for the register in September 2023.

Who will maintain this register Law enforcement agencies that are known to be corrupt and politically motivated The military establishment with its own hegemonic agendas Politicians who have vendettas against each other Hypocritical mullahs Can anyone name anyone who is truly able to maintain such a register in a just legal and objective manner in our country Be honest .
