Four killed in CCD custody

Police claim deceased were involved in armed robberies

LAHORE:

Four suspects in the custody of the Crime Control Department (CCD) were killed during attacks by unidentified assailants in Lahore.

In Kahna, CCD officials were escorting suspects Irfan and Asif for the recovery of stolen items when armed men ambushed the team and both were shot dead on the spot.

In an attack in Green Town, two suspects in custody were similarly killed by unidentified attackers while being escorted by Saddar CCD officials. Both died at the spot.

The bodies were shifted for post-mortem examination and the police launched a manhunt for the attackers.

The police said the deceased were involved in robberies during which citizens had been injured. The investigations were continuing.
