Exhibit highlights artistic innovation

Students showcase fashion, textiles and styling projects during three-day event

ISLAMABAD:

The School of Creative Arts at The Millennium Universal College Islamabad Campus successfully organised its Annual Thesis Show 2026 over three consecutive days, showcasing final-year thesis projects from the University for the Creative Arts Fashion Textiles Level 6/Top-Up, UCA Fashion Image & Styling Level 4, and HN Fashion Textiles Level 5 programmes.

The Millennium Universal College continues to promote transnational higher education in Pakistan through its exclusive partnership with the University for the Creative Arts, offering internationally recognised programmes in Fashion Textiles, Film & Digital Arts, Fashion Image & Styling, and Fashion Business Management.

Through industry-oriented curricula and state-of-the-art creative studios, the institution is nurturing a new generation of creative professionals, entrepreneurs and digital innovators in the region.

The exhibition was held under the supervision of Head of Department Sumaira Sajjad, alongside faculty members Shabahat Ali Khan, Mahnoor Arif, Usman Rehman, Aatika Khalid, Zarwa Mughal, Abdullah Sarim and Bisma Murtaza. The showcase highlighted creativity, innovation, craftsmanship and socially conscious artistic expression through fashion, textiles, styling and installation art.

The successful execution of the event was made possible through the leadership and continued support of TMUC CEO Dr Faisal Mushtaq, Dean Academics and Internationalisation Mariam Qasim, Head of Institute Muneeze Muzaffar, and Anna Faisal, whose commitment to creative education and industry engagement provided students with a professional platform to exhibit their work.

A total of 27 students presented thesis projects reflecting personal, cultural and socially aware narratives.

Among the prominent projects were Fartashia Nasir's "Still Here", centred on resilience and recovery; Areeb Fatima Malkana's "Ability in Disability", exploring love, support and inclusion for differently-abled individuals; Noor Khizar's nostalgic "My Mother's 80s Shaadi"; and Areeba Faraz's "Whispers of 1947", inspired by migration, heritage and memory, drawing upon her grandmother's migration from India to Pakistan and historical letters linked to Muhammad Ali Jinnah and Allama Iqbal.

Other notable projects included Nashmiya Fayyaz's "Behind the Mask", Ramsha Niazi's "Social Media Impact on Gen X", Hamna Fatima Malik's "The Hoods of Five", Nabiha Ahsan's "Blooming Silence", Wareesha Amir's "Edible Deception", Zahra's sustainable textile project "Sunwoven", Noor Fatima's "Embroidered Youth", Bakhtawar Samad's "Living Within the Unseen", inspired by hidden emotional struggles and resilience, Rania Haris's "The True Cost", Amber Khan's "Unheard Threads", Zoya Khan's "Silent Struggle of Men", Peham Murtaza's "Growing Up Too Fast", Rameen Ali's "Microbiology", Amin Sajid's "Saanjh Ke Saye", Wania Ahmad's "Basant", Mikail Salik's "Celestial", Aliza Qasim's "Elf Sisters Journey of Loss and Reunion", Neha Adil's "Transformation of a Woman through Emotional and Stylistic Phases", and Rameen Rashid's "The Mirror of Erised". Zain Ahmad Khan's project explored the life of a strong and independent woman within an elitist social environment.

The exhibition received an overwhelming response from industry professionals, academics, media representatives, alumni, parents and students, making it one of the most vibrant and well-attended showcases organised by the department.

The opening ceremony was attended by renowned stylist Tariq Amin and Fayza Amin. Distinguished guests included Fahad Saif, CEO and Founder of Mohtaram, Saud Bangash from the Pakistan Business Council, and contemporary calligraphy artist Mahjabeen Atif, all of whom appreciated the originality and professional presentation of the students' work.

Day Two featured visits by actor Daniel Zafar and Sohail Ahmad, who appreciated the originality and professionalism of the displayed projects. Students from NUST-SADA, Fatima Jinnah Women University and Iqra University also attended the exhibition.

The final day concluded with another packed showcase attended by guests from academia and industry. Siddiqa Malik, Chairperson of the Indus Heritage Trust, commended the meaningful concepts and execution demonstrated by the students.
