Dozens of PTI supporters booked

The police registered the case under provisions of the anti-terrorism law for blocking road and damaging vehicles.

Cases have been registered against more than 50 workers of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) on the charges of damaging vehicles after blocking the D-Type Colony road and shouting slogans outside an anti-terrorism court.

The police carried out raids to arrest the suspects.

Civil Line SHO Syed Atiqur Rahman filed a case and 25 people, including Bilal alias Bali Gujjar, a resident of Shalimar Colony, Naqash alias Kashi Gujjar of Sindhu Town, Sajid Mustafa of Shalimar Colony, Haris and Aamir of Allama Iqbal Colony and Mirza Imtiaz alias Taji of Abadi Jeevan Khan.

The official stated that the suspects were carrying sticks and they had spread fear and panic in front of the court. They blocked the road, damaged the passing vehicles and disrupted public order and traffic.

The police registered the case under provisions of the anti-terrorism law and for offences of blocking the road and damaging vehicles.

In the case filed by the SHO of D-Type Colony police station, he stated that the suspects Bilal, Naqash, Haris, Rai Ikram, Mian Rashid, Zulfiqar, Danish, Zain, Zabi and Imtiaz had gathered at the D-Type bridge and shouted slogans after blocking the road.

The police registered the case against 25 suspects under Sections 506, 504, 188, 147 and 149 and said they were conducting raids to arrest them.
