Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has called for transforming the relationship between Pakistan and Italy into a beneficial economic partnership.

During a meeting with Italy's Ambassador Marilina Armellin to discuss promotion of mutual cooperation in tourism, textile, leather, marble, carpets and other fields, she also discussed practical measures to facilitate exchange of trade and cultural delegations between the two countries.

The chief minister reviewed a proposal to increase Italian investment in olive cultivation in Chakwal and agreed to Italian Investment in livestock and dairy projects in Punjab.

She said on the occasion, "We welcome Italian investors to Punjab. They will be fully facilitated in every possible way." '

She said facilitation of work visas and active role of the trade commission are key to increasing the trade.
