Cops mobilised to secure capital banks

ISLAMABAD:

Over 1,500 police personnel have been deployed outside 600 banks and financial institutions across the district after shooting and robbery incidents affected four banks in the federal capital within two days. Along with the police, FC personnel have also been deployed. The security measures were taken on the orders of DIG Operations Syed Ali Raza.

All banks and financial institutions have been asked to notify the SHO of the police station concerned before the arrival of cash vans. The SHO will immediately send a patrolling police vehicle, which will remain with the cash van until the end. Police sources say all Zonal SPs, SDPOs, and SHOs of police stations have been directed by the Islamabad IGP to ensure full security to all banks and financial institutions.
