KARACHI:

A Judicial Magistrate in the Malir Court on Monday acquitted PTI leader Haleem Adil Shaikh, Waqar, Ali Dost, Umar and others in two separate cases of rioting registered against them in 2023.

Advocate for the petitioners, Khalid Mehmood, said that the cases were framed against the accused on the basis of assumptions. In 2023, Sachal Police registered cases against PTI Sindh President Haleem Adil Shaikh and others. The public prosecutor had taken the stand that the accused had blocked the Superhighway following the arrest of the founder of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf, creating a ruckus and forcefully stopping the traffic.
