Two people died and three, including a woman, were injured due to a wall collapse at a construction site in Cattle Colony. The condition of the injured woman was said to be critical.
The deceased included two friends and business partners, Dr Rasool Bakhsh Abro and retired sub-inspector Khadim Hussain Lashari. They were trying to save a passerby woman when a large section of the wall fell on them.
SP Malir Saeed informed The Express Tribune that the deceased Dr Abro was the owner of the City General Hospital, while the Khadim Hussain Lashari owned the Hassan Medical Centre. They deceased doctor was a resident of Steel Town, while Sub-Inspector resided near the accident site. Both of them were fast friends and had jointly purchased a 600-square-yard plot. Construction work was in progress on the adjacent plot to expand Dr Abro's hospital. Labourers were working on the plot using shovels for excavation. Both friends were standing near the wall and talking to each other. As soil was being piled against the under-construction wall with a shovel, it suddenly collapsed due to the excessive weight, hitting a passer-by woman. When Lashari and Abro tried to rescue her, another large section of the wall fell on them, due to which, both of them died.
