A major fire at a tissue paper factory in Peshawar’s Industrial Estate continues to rage on, even after 23 hours of firefighting efforts.

Rescue officials reported that the fire broke out yesterday in the Hayatabad area, and despite extensive efforts, certain sections of the factory are still ablaze.

More than 25 operational vehicles from Rescue 1122 are actively involved in battling the fire, along with over 100 rescue personnel from Charsadda, Mardan, Swabi, Nowshera, and Khyber district.

The fire has caused significant damage to the factory building.

In the course of the firefighting operation, approximately 18 rescue workers experienced health issues due to the hazardous conditions; however, they have since received medical treatment and are reported to be recovering.

Efforts to extinguish the fire remain ongoing, with officials committed to ensuring the situation is brought under control as soon as possible.

Earlier this month, a huge fire broke out in a warehouse in Korangi area within the limits of Ibrahim Hyderi police station and turned the valuable goods into ashes. There were cotton, wood, cardboard, foam and chemical drums stored in the warehouse. Chemical drums exploded which intensified the fire.

Firefighters from KMC, PARCO, Rescue 1122 and National Refinery doused the flames after the struggle of about one hour. Police and volunteer organisation teams were also present during the firefighting operation.

On September 16, a fire broke out at a garment factory in Landhi, resulting in the destruction of inventory, raw material and machinery worth millions of rupees.

Three fire brigade vehicles managed to control the blaze, but all the materials inside the factory were reduced to ashes. Fire brigade officials stated that the factory was closed at the time, which prevented any loss of life.
