Taylor Swift performed “Espresso” and other songs with Sabrina Carpenter in New Orleans on Saturday night.

During her latest stop on The Eras Tour, Swift hinted she had something special planned for her acoustic set — covering another artist’s song. “It’s been stuck in my head,” she told the crowd at Caesars Superdome, explaining her choice to add something fresh to the surprise song list.

To fans’ excitement, she began playing Carpenter’s popular summer track “Espresso” on her guitar. Swift then paused to playfully ask, “Is it OK if I call her, and you guys can say hi?” and reached for her phone to get Carpenter on the line.

The two pop stars performed a skit, with Swift placing Carpenter on speakerphone, holding it up to the microphone, and asking how long it would take her to reach the stage.

Moments later, Carpenter joined Swift on stage, and together they blended “Espresso” into a three-song mashup with Swift’s 1989 vault track “Is It Over Now?” and another Carpenter hit, “Please Please Please.”

A memorable moment for Swift? Singing the line “I’m working late ‘cause I’m a singer” from “Espresso” to a packed stadium as the clock neared 11 p.m.

“She has literally one day off. She is on tour. This is crazy that she came to perform for us,” Swift remarked after their energetic duet. Carpenter then left the stage, allowing Swift to close the acoustic portion solo at the piano, where she performed a mashup of Midnights bonus track “Hits Different” and 1989’s opener “Welcome to New York.”
