Film star Veena Malik appeared in an interview for Independent Urdu to share a snapshot of her life and career so far. From raising kids away from the camera lens to establishing herself as a mimicry pro, Veena had a variety of insights to offer.
The 48-year-old actor is keen on distancing her children from the addiction of social media praise. "They keep telling me, 'Mom, you're a superstar! You're Veena Malik! Put our videos up as well. People will like them.' But the thing is, they're at a fragile age. For a few likes on social media, I don't want to ruin their peace of mind. Thankfully, they are happy, healthy, and beautiful. I want them to stay that way," she explained.
As of late, the artist's blooming love life with beau Sheharyar Chaudhry has been the talk of the town. "He has brought a fresh perspective to my life. He has restored my faith enough for me to wear my rose-tinted glasses again. He made me love Bollywood songs, though previously I used to find them cheesy," the Super Model actor fawned, admitting that she's loving everything about this love-dazed period even if sometimes it feels too good to be true.
She further reflected on her trajectory as a mimicry artist. "I think the most difficult form of acting is comedy, and it's what I've always loved," she said. "Doctor Younis pushed me to hone my skills, and now I'm at the stage where I can do it without sparing a thought, even if I have to do it spontaneously."
Despite her belief that comedy has suffered a decline over the years, the Hum Sab Umeed Se Hain host appreciates those who pursue other aspects of the entertainment industry. On the evolution of the craft, she said, "Artists should be free to move about as they please. Art cannot be caged to a dimension."
