The Bilal Colony Police have arrested a suspect involved in online fraud and recovered 95 women's suits valued at nearly one million rupees.
According to SHO Waqar Qaiser, the accused, identified as Malik Muhammad Afham, son of Muhammad Anwar, was apprehended during a raid at Anarkali Flats, Sector 5-L, Korangi, following a complaint.
The investigation revealed that Afham placed online orders for clothing from well-known brands, directing them to Anarkali Flats. Upon receiving the deliveries, he would deceive the delivery riders and flee without paying. SHO Qaiser further disclosed that the suspect used various aliases and SIM cards from different mobile service providers, with the phone numbers registered under individuals from Rahim Yar Khan and Bahawalpur.
Afham was caught red-handed when he came to receive another fraudulent order at the same address. During interrogation, he confessed to his involvement in the scam and surrendered 95 women's dresses he had acquired through deception.
Further inquiries revealed that the suspect was also wanted in multiple financial crimes. He was a fugitive in a cheque bounce case registered at the Defence police station and an absconder in a similar case filed at the Clifton police station. In addition, he had embezzled millions of rupees from various victims.
The Bilal Colony Police have lodged a case against Afham and transferred him to the investigation wing for further inquiries.
